Overview
The failure of an internal power supply in a switch can cause network and device downtime, which translates into inefficiency. The DPS-600 provides a safety net against this problem by utilizing an integrated detection circuit to continuously monitor the switching device's internal power supply. In the event of a power interruption or failure, the redundant power supply will immediately be triggered to supply power to the switch and any attached devices.
The deployment of the DPS-600 to an Ethernet switch does not require any changes in the configuration of your network. This device can be connected to any AC main power source from 90VAC to 264VAC and 47Hz to 63Hz through a standard three-pronged AC power cable. This 500 Watt Redundant Power Supply is also rackmountable, enabling you to place it near the switch.

D-Link DES-3828P Ethernet switches with Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The DPS-600 redundant power supply provides a low-cost simple solution to the problem of an inadvertent failure of the internal power-supply of the Ethernet switch which can result in the shutdown of that switching device the PoE devices attached to its ports or an entire network. Supporting 500 watts output power the DPS-600 redundant power supply can maximize power availability of the switching device.
With a DPS-600 redundant power supply connected to the LAN switch an integrated detection circuit will continuously monitor the switching device's internal power supply. In the event of a power interruption the redundant power supply is immediately triggered so that the LAN switch and its connected devices can continue providing service. This results in a more reliable network infrastructure and protects the network from a single failure of a network device power supply.
A deployment of the DPS-600 with a LAN switch does not necessitate any change in configuration of the LAN switch. This redundant power supply is equipped with a universal internal power supply and can be connected to any AC main power source from 90VAC to 264VAC 47Hz to 63Hz through a standard three-pronged AC power cable. It is housed in a low-profile 19-inch standard-size rack mount metal case and consequently can be mounted in the same rack as the switching device that it supports. Connecting the DPS-600 to the switching device is through a 14-pin DC power cable.
